Sun Met 2020 Best Bet - Hawwaam @ 2.20

Hawwaam is undoubtedly the superstar of the South African racing scene who, until two weeks ago in the Grade One Queen's Plate had one five consecutive races including two wins at Grade One level, another at Grade Two level and a listed event.

The credentials of this horse cannot be denied, but one thing we do know is he's a temperamental beast. If the loading process takes longer than it needs to he can get very agitated, as we saw last start.

Barring another unforeseen delay or something else that could irritate the volatile competitor, but Hawwaam should be composed, calm and driving this field into the ground en route to the UK

Sun Met 2020 Value Bet - Do It Again @ 7

The winner of the Durban July, Do It Again put in a poor performance in the Queen's Plate earlier in January, but had plenty of excuses.

Trainer Justin Snaith stated that he believes the horse could have been a bilary carrier after being bitten by a tick in the lead up to that event, which would explain dissapointing showing.

Snaith said that the recovery of the Grade One winner had been rapid since only rating him as a 50:50 chance heading into the Sun Met.

He's proven he's capable of winning Grade One races and if he's anywhere near full fitness he'll be fighting out the Sun Met finish.
