Soul Sister was cut for the Oaks after winning the Musidora Stakes

The bookmakers enjoyed an excellent afternoon on day one of the Dante Meeting at York. Wednesday's feature, the Duke Of York Stakes was won by 12/1 shot Azure Blue, who edged out fellow mare Highfield Princess to claim an impressive victory.

Frankie Dettori rode an 18/1 winner in the Musidora Stakes, where Soul Sister ran out an impressive winner. John and Thady Gosden's filly was a 66/1 shot for the Epsom Oaks prior to Wednesday's trial, with bet365 now listing Soul Sister as their 5/1 second-favourite.

Scampi booked his spot in the Ebor Handicap back at York in August by winning the Jorvik Handicap under Hayley Turner. Former Ayr Gold Cup winner Bielsa then bounced back to winning form to win the Churchill Tyres Handicap.

A fifth-straight double-figure winner went in at 4:10pm, when Dark Thirty held on to land the Conundrum Consulting Handicap. Kevin Ryan's debutante Mon Na Slieve won the five-furlong novice stakes, before Kihavah triumphed in the 1m4f handicap for a second year in a row.
