The four-year-olds came to the fore in Friday's feature at York, the Yorkshire Cup. 14/1 outsider Giavellotto turned the tables on his St Leger conqueror Eldar Eldarov, who stayed on to finish second ahead of Broome.

Marco Botti said after the race that the Ascot Gold Cup wasn't an option for Giavellotto, who could be trained toward the Melbourne Cup. Eldar Eldarov will be heading to Royal Ascot and Roger Varian's Classic winner was cut into 5/1 third-favouritism for the Gold Cup by QuinnBet.

Jessica Harrington struck with her only runner of the meeting at York, as Sounds Of Heaven won the Michael Seely Stakes. Got To Love A Grey threw her hat into the ring for Royal Ascot with an impressive victory in the Marygate Fillies Stakes.

William Buick then rode an ITV racing double. The Champion Jockey first guided Marhaba The Champ to victory in the Knights Solicitors Handicap, before striking about the ultra-impressive Mostabshir in the Darley Novices' Stakes.

Punters endured another tricky day, as Eligible became the third double-figure priced winner when he landed the Yorkshire Equine Practice Handicap.
