The 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships takes place from May 12-28 and you don't have to miss a single point with every match streamed live online.

Sixteen nations will contest the championships in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia, as the world's best players bid for glory on the biggest stage.

When is the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championships taking place?

The group stages get underway on May 12 with teams drawn into two groups of eight teams. Group A, featuring hosts Finland, are based in Tampere while Group B, featuring Latvia, will play in Riga.

The top four teams from each group move into the knockout stage.

The group stage round robin takes place through to May 23 with the quarter-finals on May 25, the semi-finals on May 7 and the final and third place play-off on May 28.

Which countries are playing in the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championships?

The 16 teams competing are: Austria, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United States.

Russia and Belarus have been excluded.

Finland are both hosts and defending champions after winning the title in 2022 on home ice.

The teams are divided into two groups of eight:

Group A: Finland, United States, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, France, Austria and Hungary

Group B: Canada, Czechia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia
