The Americans have rebounded from their one group stage defeat, and they will be motivated to get a measure of revenge for last year’s quarter-final defeat.

The Czech Republic head into their final group game boasting an unbeaten record and sitting top of Group B.

The defending champions were handed a tough start to their defence of the crown, but they passed that test as they beat Switzerland 5-4 in overtime in a rematch from last year’s final.

The Czech Republic then beat Norway 2-1, before recording four straight blowout wins.

They beat Denmark 7-2, downed Hungary 6-1, and then produced their highest scoring performance to date as they beat Kazakhstan 8-1.

The Czechs then followed that up on Monday with their first shutout win of the tournament, beating Germany 5-0.

United States Form

The United States have already booked a place in the quarter-finals, and a win here could see them finish top of Group B.

The Americans raced out of the blocks with a couple of shutout wins, downing Denmark 5-0 and Hungary 6-0.

Their winning start came to an abrupt end as they were shut out themselves, losing 3-0 to Switzerland, but they responded quickly with a 6-5 overtime win against Norway.

The United States have been much more convincing in their last two victories though.

They first downed Germany 6-3, and in their most recent outing they eased past Kazakhstan, 6-1.
