The Austrians were smashed 5-1 by Denmark in their opening game, and then dropped an 11-game thriller with Switzerland, losing 6-5.

Their best performance was seen on Tuesday against the reigning champions Canada, the regular time ending in a 6-6 draw, eventually losing in overtime. Peter Schneider was the top performer with two goals and one assist.

Austria are now sitting in 7th place in the group with just one point from three games. They narrowly avoided relegation in this competition a year ago, as they won just once in overtime during the group stage.

Finland are tagged favorites for a good reason here but the handicap line is too high in my opinion, especially after watching Austria narrowly lose to Canada.
