The USA are tipped to bounce back from the surprise loss to Slovakia.

The Americans have dominated France in recent years, and we have seen little from the French so far to suggest we will see a change here.

The USA enter this matchup looking to rebound from a surprise defeat that has left them with a losing record in Group B.

The Americans bowed out in the semi-finals a year ago, and ahead of the 2024 tournament they were expected to make a deep run once again.

However, they have got off to a rough start by losing two of their first three games in the competition.

The United States opened with a 5-2 defeat to fellow front-runners Sweden, only to rebound with a dominant 6-1 win over Germany.

The Americans failed to back that up though, as they rescued overtime with three unanswered goals, only to then give up the decisive goal to lose 5-4 to Slovakia.

France Form

France have their sights set on causing an upset as they attempt to follow up their first win of the tournament.

The French departed after the group stage a year ago, winning just one of their seven games, and the losing continued in their first two games of the 2024 tournament.

They opened up with a 3-1 defeat to Kazakhstan despite being a slight favourite heading into that game.

France then lost 3-2 to Latvia, before finally getting off the mark at the third time of asking.

The French went into the meeting with Poland as betting favourites, and they lived up to their billing with a much-needed 2-0 win.

The losses are starting to pile up for the USA, but they remain one of the best teams in this tournament.

They are still many levels above France and have repeatedly beaten them in convincing fashion, so we are giving the Americans the benefit of the doubt in this one.
