Colorado Avalanche Form

Colorado swept St Louis 4-0 in the first round and made a blistering start to this series.

They ran over a jaded Vegas team 7-1 in Game 1, and then took control of the series with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 2.

It has been all downhill for them since there though.

The Avalanche blew a 2-1 lead in the third period to lose Game 3 by a score of 3-2.

They then took an early lead in Game 4 only to concede five times and lost the matchup 5-1.

Their inability to hold a lead then reared its ugly head again as they conceded twice in the third period to blow a two-goal lead in Game 5.

Their misery was completed by an overtime goal and Colorado now know they cannot afford another loss.

Nazem Kadri will miss Game 6 after his eight-game suspension was upheld this week.

He joins Matt Calvert, Erik Johnson (both upper body) and Pavel Francouz (lower body) on the sideline.

Vegas Golden Knights Form

Vegas won a marathon seven-game clash with Minnesota in round one and are now preparing for their 13th playoff game of the season.

The good news is that they are in the position to avoid a Game 7 in this series with Colorado.

The Golden Knights made a nightmare start as they were crushed 7-1 in Game 1 just two days after wrapping up against the Wild.

They ran Colorado closer in Game 2 but went down to a 3-2 overtime defeat.

Vegas showed their resolve in Game 3 as they came back from the brink to win 3-2.

They then bounced back from conceding an early goal to rout the Avalanche 5-1 in Game 4.

The Golden Knights then showed their fighting spirit again in Game 5, coming back from two down to beat Colorado 3-2 in overtime.

That means a win here will see them through and the good news is that there are no fresh names on the injury report.

Tomas Nosek (undisclosed) and Peyton Krebs (jaw) remain listed as day-to-day.
