The Blue Jackets won four straight between late February and early March, but they were unable to maintain that run.

They went out on the road to lose 6-1 in Tampa and 3-0 at Florida, before upsetting the Rangers in New York, 7-3.

Columbus failed to build on that victory as they wrapped up that road trip with a 5-3 defeat at the hands of New Jersey.

The Blue Jackets then returned home for 4-0 shutout losses to Vegas and the Rangers, before losing 2-1 when they hosted New Jersey.

Pittsburgh Penguins Form

Pittsburgh enter this game on the back of a loss, but in improved form with four wins in their previous five games.

The Penguins began March with a run of four consecutive defeats that saw them give up 17 goals.

They rallied on the road though, beating Minnesota 3-1, and backed that up when they returned home.

Pittsburgh beat Vegas 3-2 in overtime, and then followed that up with a 5-3 win over St Louis and a 7-3 success against New Jersey.

The Penguins failed to make it five-in-a-row however, as they were beaten 4-2 by the New York Islanders.
