Dallas kept their hopes of reaching the Stanley Cup Finals alive with a Game 4 victory.

The Stars overcame early deficits to beat Minnesota 4-2 and Seattle 4-3 in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The must now overcome another deficit in the Western Conference Finals series with Vegas.

Dallas dropped back-to-back overtime games on the road, 4-3 and 3-2, before returning home for a 4-0 defeat.

That left the Stars knowing that one more defeat will end their season, and they were able to fend off elimination on Thursday as they beat the Golden Knights 3-2 in overtime at home.

Vegas return home with another chance to clinch the Western Conference Finals after failing to seal the deal on the road.

The Golden Knights downed Minnesota 4-2 and Seattle 4-3 in the first round of the playoffs, but looked set to make much lighter work of this series with Dallas.

They reeled off three consecutive wins to take full control, and now need just one more win to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Vegas won a couple of overtime games at home, 4-3 and 3-2, before downing Dallas 4-0 on the road to put them on the brink of wrapping up the series.

The Golden Knights passed up on the chance to clinch on the road in Game 4 though, losing 3-2 in overtime in Dallas in Game 4.
