The Oilers began the series on the road and suffered two high-scoring defeats at the hands of Los Angeles, losing 6-5 and 6-2.

They steadied the ship when they returned home though, starting with a 7-4 victory in Game 3.

Edmonton then backed up that success in Game 4, as they beat the Kings 4-3 in overtime to knot up the series at two wins apiece.
