The Oilers stumbled after Christmas as they lost 4-3 in overtime in Los Angeles and 5-3 in regulation at Anaheim, but they soon turned things around.

The ended 2024 with a 4-1 victory at home to Utah, and then backed that up with a 3-2 win when they entertained Anaheim.

Edmonton went out on the road after that and beat Seattle 4-2, before heading to Boston to shut out the Bruins in a 4-0 victory.

The Oilers failed to make it five-in-a-row as they lost 5-3 in Pittsburgh, but they did rebound immediately as they won 4-3 in Chicago and beat Los Angeles 1-0 at home.

Minnesota Wild Form

Minnesota go into this game looking to kick-start a good run of form, having lost two of their four outings last week.

The Wild went into Christmas on the back of a 4-3 win over Chicago, and then made it back-to-back victories by beating Dallas in overtime, 3-2.

They failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 3-1 to Ottawa, only to respond with a 5-3 victory over Nashville that sparked a four-game win streak.

Minnesota then beat Washington 4-3, Carolina 4-0 and St Louis 6-4, before seeing their winning run finally end with a 6-1 defeat to Colorado.

The Wild hit back with a 3-1 win in San Jose, only to then move on to Vegas for a 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
