Florida head back out on the road with another chance to clinch the Stanley Cup, having now passed up two opportunities.

The Panthers surged to a 3-0 lead in the series as they beat Edmonton 3-0 and 4-1 at home, and 4-3 on the road, but they have been unable to put away the Oilers.

They were beaten 8-1 on the road in Game 4 and 5-3 at home in Game 5, but they still only need one more win to wrap this up and they get another opportunity on Friday night.

Florida earned their place in the Stanley Cup Finals by knocking out Tampa Bay, Boston and the New York Rangers during their playoff run.

The Panthers won the first three games of their series with Tampa Bay, before responding to a 6-3 defeat with a series-sealing 6-1 victory over the Lightning.

They then needed six games to get past Boston, bouncing back from a 5-1 defeat with 6-1, 6-2 and 3-2 victory, before responding to a 2-1 defeat with a 2-1 win on the road.

That set up an Eastern Conference Finals series with the New York Rangers, and they fell behind early as they lost two of the first three games.

Florida came surging back though, stringing together 3-2 (OT), 3-2 and 2-1 wins to secure their place in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Edmonton Oilers Form

Edmonton return home with all of the momentum and now have an opportunity to force a winner-takes-all Game 7 clash in Florida.

The Oilers dug themselves a huge hole in this series as they lost the first three games, 3-0 and 4-1 on the road and 4-3 at home, but they have responded in impressive fashion.

They finally got off the mark as they stormed to an 8-1 win over the Panthers, and they were able to back that up on the road with a 5-3 victory that has brought the series back to Edmonton.

Edmonton entered the Stanley Cup Finals having eliminated Los Angeles, Vancouver and Dallas in the playoffs.

The Oilers split the first two games of the series with Los Angeles, but took over from there as they reeled off 6-1, 1-0 and 4-0 wins to seal the series 4-1.

Their win streak was ended during a back-and-forth series with Vancouver that saw the two teams split the first six games for set up Game 7.

Edmonton won it 5-1 to set up a Western Conference Finals showdown with Dallas, and they fell behind early in that series too.

However, the Oilers were able to erase a 2-1 deficit with 5-2, 3-1 and 2-1 wins to book their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
