The Kings lost five straight between late February and early March, but rebounded in strong fashion by going on a five-game tear of their own.

They beat St Louis 2-1 in overtime, before backing up a 6-5 victory in Vegas with home wins over the New York Islanders, 4-1, Washington, 3-0, and Nashville, 1-0 in overtime.

Los Angeles’ run was halted by a 3-1 loss in Minnesota, but they immediately responded with a 3-1 success in Chicgao.

The Kings then returned home to blow out both Carolina and Boston by a score of 7-2, before beating the New York Rangers 3-1.

Colorado Avalanche Form

Colorado also enter this matchup on a great run of form, having won 11 of their last 13 games and each of the last three.

The Avalanche responded to back-to-back road defeats in late February with a six-game win streak that was eventually ended by a 2-1 shootout loss at Minnesota.

They rebounded to beat Calgary 4-2 on the road, and then beat Dallas 4-3 in overtime at home before losing 2-1 on the road in Toronto.

Colorado have not lost since though, sparking a three-game winning run with their 5-1 blowout of the Senators in Ottawa.

The Avalanche then downed Montreal 5-4 via a shootout, before returning home to take down Detroit, 5-2.

Colorado go into this game in good form, and they have had Los Angeles' number in recent seasons.
