Los Angeles go into their second road game of the series on the back of a loss, but holding a 2-1 lead.

The Kings beat Edmonton twice in the final few weeks of the regular season, shutting them out both times, and they continued that dominance in the first two postseason meetings.

They edged the Oilers in the opening game of this series, 6-5, and then backed that up with a 6-2 success to take control.

Los Angeles failed to make it three-in-a-row in their road opener though, as they were beaten 7-4 in Edmonton on Friday.

The Kings secured their spot in the playoffs by going 50-22-10 in the regular season to finish atop the Pacific Division.

Edmonton enter this matchup looking to make it back-to-back victories and level the series before heading back to Los Angeles.

This is the fourth straight season that they have met Los Angeles in the first round of the postseason, but if they want to repeat their previous three successes they need to build on a Game 3 win.

The Oilers were beaten 6-5 in Game 1 in Los Angeles, and then suffered a 6-2 defeat in their second road game of this series to go 2-0 down.

Edmonton issued a response in their first home game of the series though, as they beat the Kings 7-4.

The Oilers earned their place in the playoffs by putting together a 48-29-5 record to finish third the Pacific Division.
