Montreal head to Seattle having rebounded from a couple of defeats with their sixth victory in their last eight games.

The Canadiens entered the mid-season break on a three-game losing skid, but turned things around when they regular season resumed.

They snapped their skid with a 5-2 victory in Ottawa, and backed that up at home as they downed Carolina 4-0 and San Jose 4-3 in overtime.

Montreal then won back-to-back meetings with Buffalo, 4-2 in regulation on the road and 4-3 in overtime at home.

The Canadiens’ run was ended by a 3-2 overtime loss in Edmonton and a 1-0 defeat at Calgary, but they bounced back last night by beating Vancouver 4-2.

Seattle Kraken Form

Seattle enter this matchup on a rough run of form, having now tasted defeat in five of their last seven games.

The Kraken won either side of the mid-season break, beating Calgary 3-2 in overtime and Florida 2-1 in regulation, but they have not strung together wins since then.

They dropped back-to-back road games, 4-1 in Tampa and 7-2 at St Louis, before returning home to beat Vancouver 6-3.

Seattle failed to follow that up as they lost 4-3 to Minnesota and 5-3 in Nashville, but they avoided a third straight loss as they downed Philadelphia on the road, 4-1.

The Kraken again failed to follow up a victory though, as they were beaten 4-2 in Washington.
