They lost back-to-back-to-back games against the Lighting, losing 4-1 before suffering a shootout defeat.

New Jersey then fell to a 4-2 defeat at Florida, before avenging those losses to Tampa Bay with a 5-2 road win against the Lightning.

The Devils failed to back that up though, losing 2-1 in overtime at Minnesota on Tuesday night.

The Sabres saw a three-game win streak end with defeats to Columbus, 5-3, and Boston, 7-1.

Buffalo stopped that four-game skid with a 4-3 win in Toronto, but they have not won since.

The Sabres lost a shootout in Washington and 5-2 in Philadelphia, before returning home to lose 7-0 to Boston and 7-3 to Nashville.
