The Tampa Bay Lightning could fall short in their bid for a Stanley Cup 3-peat, according to the sportsbooks.
Tampa successfully defended their world title in 2021 by beating Montreal 4-1 in the Stanley Cup Finals.
No team has managed a 3-peat though since New York Islanders won four straight titles between 1980 and 1983, but the bookies are not writing off Tampa's chances.
The Lightning are 6/1 to lift the Stanley Cup in 2022, but they are the second favourites with bet365.
Colorado are the outright favorites at 5/1 despite them exiting the 2021 playoffs in the second round.
Vegas, the team that beat the Avalanche before suffering a surprise loss to Montreal, are next up at 13/2.
The bookmakers clearly believe this could be a three-horse race because no other team are shorter than 12s at this time.
Montreal, who made it to the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals, are out at 25/1 alongside a host of other teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins.
