Toronto head to Tampa looking to rebound from a road defeat that ended their four-game winning run.

The Maple Leafs have won eight of their previous 11 games; a sequence that began with a three-game run in March.

They stumbled late in the month with two defeats in three games, but got back on track with a 3-1 victory in Los Angeles.

Toronto backed that up with a 3-2 win at Anaheim, before returning home to down Florida 3-2 and Columbus 5-0.

The Maple Leafs failed to make it five-in-a-row though, as their underwhelming road form continued with a 3-1 loss at Florida.

Tampa Bay Lightning Form

Tampa Bay enter this matchup having rebounded from back-to-back defeats with their fifth victory in seven games.

The Lighting dropped a couple of games in late March, but rebounded to win their final three games of the month.

They beat Pittsburgh 6-1 and then backed that up with an 8-0 shutout of Utah and a 5-3 success against the New York Islanders.

Tampa Bay then beat the Islanders on the road, 4-1, only to drop their next two road games as they fell 2-1 in Ottawa and 3-2 at Buffalo.

The Lightning avoided a third straight defeat however, as they downed the Rangers in New York, 5-1.
