Vegas Golden Knights at Colorado Avalanche Predictions & Tips

Colorado can take Game 1 in this best-of-seven series.

The Avalanche are well rested after sweeping their series while Vegas went seven games with Minnesota.

  • Colorado Avalanche swept St Louis Blues in the first round
  • Colorado Avalanche won that series by a combined score of 20-7
  • Colorado Avalanche have won 9 straight games
  • Colorado Avalanche have won 12 of their last 13 games
  • Colorado Avalanche have not played since May 23
  • Vegas Golden Knights played just two days ago (May 28)
  • Vegas Golden Knights played all 7 games against Minnesota in Round 1

Head To Head

  • Colorado Avalanche lead the all-time series 9-8
  • The two teams split the season series 4-4

Vegas Golden Knights Form

Vegas made hard work of their first-round series with Minnesota, going to a decider.

The Golden Knights dropped a close opener 1-0 but came storming back to reel off three straight wins.

They won 3-1, 5-2 and 4-0 to put themselves on the brink of going through.

Vegas blew their chance to wrap up the series at home, losing 4-2, and then lost 3-0 on the road.

That took the series to Game 7 and they lifted their game and left no doubt with a 6-2 rout of the Wild.

Brayden McNabb (COVID-19), Tomas Nosek (undisclosed) and Peyton Krebs (jaw) are all still day-to-day on the injury report.

Colorado Avalanche Form

Colorado are a team in red-hot form after ruthlessly dispatching St Louis in the last round.

The Avalanche won 8 of their last 9 games to storm into the postseason and continued in that form against the Blues.

A 4-1 victory in Game 1 proved to be a sign of things to come as they romped to victory in four straight games.

They took Game 2 by a score of 6-3 and then dominated the Blues in St Louis.

A 5-1 victory in Game 3 was followed up by a 5-2 win in Game 4 that secured their progression.

The Avalanche have a lengthy list of names on the injury report.

Jayson Megna (COVID-19) is day-to-day and Matt Calvert (undisclosed) is week-to-week.

Logan O’Connor (lower body) and Erik Johnson (upper body) are out indefinitely, with Pavel Francouz (lower body) done for the season.

Vegas can push Colorado all the way in this one, but they may be jaded after a marathon series with Minnesota.

The Avalanche are well rested after a 4-0 whitewash and can win a 10th straight game on Sunday.
