The Jets came into this series with home advantage, but surrendered it in their opening game as they were beaten 4-2 by Dallas.

They rebounded to take the next meeting, 4-0, only to then drop back-to-back road games against the Stars, 5-2 and 3-1.

That left Winnipeg on the brink of elimination, and they were able to fend it off for the time being with a 4-0 victory at home on Thursday.

The Jets went 56-22-4 to win the Central Division and reach the playoffs, but they were pushed all the way in the first round as it took seven games to get past St Louis.

Dallas return home with another opportunity to clinch this series, having passed up the chance on Thursday.

The Stars made the perfect start to the series as they beat the Jets in Winnipeg, 3-2, to take away their home advantage.

They failed to back up that victory as they then lost 4-0 on the road, but when they headed back home they opened up a two-game cushion with 5-2 and 3-1 wins.

That gave Dallas the chance to wrap things up on the road, but they failed to take that opportunity as they were beaten 4-0.

The Stars went 50-26-6 during the regular season, and had to overcome Colorado in a marathon first round series that went seven games.

Dallas have been in strong form at home in the playoffs and they are a perfect 2-0 at the American Airlines Center in this series.
