Alsco Uniforms 500 Tips, Picks & Odds

  • Will Keselowski take the checkered flag again?
nascar
We are now three races deep this May, but the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series has two more to go this month, including this coming Wednesday’s Alsco Uniforms 500 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway – the same track where Brad Keselowski won last Sunday. Will Keselowski take the checkered flag again? Or will another driver steal the show?

FAVORITES
Brad Keselowski (+1000)
Keselowski is now at the fifth spot of the NASCAR Cup Series standings after securing a win last Sunday in Charlotte. Still, nailing his first victory of the season could be a sign of great things to come for the Team Penske Racing driver, who was also fourth at the Toyota 500 race last week at Darlington Raceway. So far this season, Keselowski has four top 7s in seven starts, including a seventh-place in Las Vegas and a fifth at Auto Club Speedway. Keselowski now has two career wins at Charlotte Speedway, the first coming from his success there back at 2013’s Bank of America 500.

Joey Logano (+1000)
Keselowski’s teammate, Logano, settled for a 14th-place campaign at the Coca Cola 600, thus extending his search for his first win since the resumption of the NASCAR Cup Series following a stoppage due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Logano occupies the second spot in the standings with 268 points. Logano, who won the 2020 FanShield 500 at the Phoenix Raceway last March, has 10 top 10s in 21 career starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway. That includes his win at the 2015 Bank of America 500 and a runner-up finish in last year’s Coca Cola 600.

Kevin Harvick (+800)
While he didn’t win last Sunday’s Coca Cola 600, Harvick proved that he’s still one of the hottest drivers to date this season. Harvick finished sixth in that race, extending his streak of 9th-place or better streak to seven races, dating back to his fifth-place campaign at Daytona 500 last February. Harvick has won three races in 37 starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway and has four top 10s there since 2017.

SLEEPERS
Ryan Blaney (+1600)
Blaney had been relatively silent since kicking off the season with a booming second-place finish at the 2020 Daytona 500. He’s finally made quite a noise again on Sunday, when he finished fourth at the Coca Cola 600. That was also his best finish at the track since he made his debut there in 2015.

Erik Jones (+2000)
Jones failed to make it three in a row top-10 finishes after going 12th at the Coca Cola 600 last Sunday. Prior to that, he was eighth at The Real Heroes 400 and fifth at the Toyota 500. That’s not to say that his performance last Sunday was bad. It wasn’t at all. Jones is always a threat despite remaining winless this season. He has three top 10s in his last five starts.

LONG SHOT
Chris Buescher (+10000)
Maybe Buescher’s 11th-place finish at the 2020 Coca Cola 600 isn’t something to be taken seriously. Or maybe, it’s telling us to start taking notes on the Team Roush Fenway Racing driver. Remember, Buescher also finished third at the 2020 Daytona 500.

Prediction
Kevin Harvick wins the 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500.
