The Formula 1 Virtual Grand Prix was launched in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic postponing the start of the Formula 1 season. The Formula 1 esports grand prix series features former and current F1 drivers alongside gamers to ensure fans can still continue to follow the season virtually.
The virtual races will run in place of every postponed Grand Prix, starting with a Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday 22 March 2020. No official World Championship points are on offer with the series for entertainment purposes only.

The Formula 1 Virtual Grand Prix races are 50% length race with approximately 28 laps. Game settings are configured to encourage competitive and entertaining racing, including running equal car performance with fixed setups, reduced vehicle damage. Drivers have the option of using anti-lock brakes and traction control.
