Punter wins over £13,000 with plucky Lewis Hamilton bet placed in 2008

A punter has this week claimed over £13,000 from an optimistic gamble placed twelve years ago, Ladbrokes have told FreeTips.com.
The bookies have revealed the sensational punt was struck back in November 2008 on Lewis Hamilton beating Michael Schumacher's then-record of 91 F1 Grand Prix victories.
Priced as a 33/1 shot at the time, the customer placed two bets across two days at £200 apiece, and after 12 long years of Hamilton dominating Formula One, the bet finally landed at the end of October in Portugal.
Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati told FreeTips.com: "It's been a 12-year-long slog to the finish line but Lewis Hamilton's record-breaking moment last month has made one plucky punter £13k better off, and a trip to the Algarve is surely soon to be on the cards for them at some point in the future!"
