How to bet on the NFL
Ahead of the 2020 NFL season getting underway later this year, the San Francisco 49ers look like being the team to beat in the NFC.

The 2020 season, which will be the 101st season of the NFL, is scheduled to begin on September 10th 2020, and with solid quarterback play and arguably the best defense in football, the 49ers are one participant in the Super Bowl who should not have difficulty remaining relevant in 2020.

There's been a tendency for teams to peak as one hit wonders in recent years as a franchise gets a single shot at being contenders - the exception being the New England Patriots - but for most it has been a quick peak followed by a long slide.

That doesn't look like being the case for San Francisco who in particular have one of the best quarterback depth charts in the league.

Starter Jimmy Garoppolo was excellent all year and ended up 12th in the league in passing yards. The former second round draft pick of the Patriots has found a home in San Francisco with a large contract and a useful overall offense.

Sitting behind Garoppolo on the depth chart is one of the better back ups in the league in Nick Mullens who somehow went undrafted when coming out of college.

The former Southern Miss signal caller stepped in for Garoppolo when the Niners starter was injured in 2018 and did a credible job under difficult circumstances.

It's possible that at some point San Francisco will trade Mullens, but it is notable that recent reports indicate that the 49ers were approach recently and had absolutely no interest in any deal for a quarterback who broke Brett Favre's records at Southern Miss.

The 2020 NFL season is scheduled to begin with the NFL Kickoff Game, expected to be hosted by the defending Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The 2020 season concludes with Super Bowl LV, which is scheduled for February 7th, 2021 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
