The traditional Boat Race course along a 4.2-mile stretch of the River Thames in London is out of action due to Hammersmith Bridge being closed.
The bridge, one of the landmarks along the route which runs from Putney Bridge to Chiswick Bridge, is closed to traffic over it and boats underneath it due to cracking.
Instead, the 166th Boat Race will take place on the Great Ouse in at Ely in Cambridgeshire. It will be the first time it has taken place in Ely since 1944.
The event will be closed to spectators.
