Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has hinted that he is open to the possibility of a return to his boyhood club Barcelona.

Onana has been linked with a move away from Ajax in recent weeks, with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Tottenham, both believed to be showing interest in the 24-year-old.

The Cameroon international moved to Barca from his homeland in 2010 aged just 13, and spent five years in the club's famed La Masia academy before moving to Amsterdam in 2015.

Onana quickly established himself as Ajax's number one and has made 178 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie giants at time of writing, winning the Dutch league title in 2018/19 and playing a key role in the club's thrilling run to the Champions League semi-finals in the same season.

The keeper's performances for Ajax haven't gone unnoticed and with the continent's bigger fish starting to circle, a summer departure for Onana could be possible.

PSG have also been linked with Onana, but it is thought a return to Barcelona may also appeal to Onana.

And speaking to Canal+ Afrique, Onana spoke in glowing terms about his former employers, saying: "It's hard to say because with Barcelona, I am still in very good relations with the president and coaches.

"Barca is my home. If I have to go back, I will go back. But today we are still far from it. I'm the Ajax goalkeeper and we'll see what happens at the end of the season."
