Manchester United have made Jadon Sancho their top priority in the next transfer window according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. "They are trying to get Sancho," Romano said in an interview with the Instagram page 433.

Sancho turned 20 today and the English international is one of the hottest prospects in world football. The Borussia Dortmund star has registered 14 goals and 15 assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Valued at over €130m, Man United face competition from many of the other top clubs in Europe.

"They have been in contact with his agent for two months," Romano added. "At the moment the situation is that Manchester United are working with the player on his contract. The problem now is to speak with Borussia Dortmund about the price. The situation around the world with corona makes it complicated to have meetings."

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc previously said that all transfer talks are on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. "We want to keep him as long as possible," sporting director Michael Zorc told RMC Sport.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke echoed similar statements as his sporting director, saying: "We have enough money at the moment, we want to win titles and need Sancho."

That much is clear, but the German club might be powerless to do much about Sancho leaving. Bought for just under €8m from Manchester City in August 2017, it would be a real coup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
