McIlroy tipped to win US Masters

Rory McIlroy will win the Masters at Augusta, top coach and TV pundit Butch Harmon has insisted.

McIlroy has won the other three Majors - the US Open, USPGA Championship and the Open Championship - but the Masters has so far eluded him.

The Northern Irishman had one arm in a Green Jacket when taking a four-shot lead into the final round in 2011, before collapsed to a final-round 80.

Since then, McIlroy has finished in the Top 10 at Augusta on five occasions but victory still eludes him.

However, Harmon believes the 30-year-old winning the Masters is a matter of when, not if.

He told Sky Sports News: "I don't see how he can't. His game is suited for it and it's the one he wants to win.

"I think if he can just relax and allow himself to play golf, then as world number one to say he's never going to win the Masters is ridiculous.

"I think for sure he'll win it and when he wins one, he'll win more than one."

McIlroy hasn't added to his tally of four Majors since 2014, but has returned to the top of the world rankings as a result of some superb golf in the past twelve months.
