Calgary head out on the road for the first time this season looking to build on a season-opening victory.

The Stampeders kicked things off with a home game against Hamilton and ran out 32-24 winners in that one.

It was a promising start for a team that made the playoffs in 2023 despite winning only six games during the regular season.

Calgary went into their final bye week with a 4-11 record, but won two of their final three games to snatch a postseason berth.

The Stampeders’ stay in the playoffs was a brief one though, as they were beaten 41-30 by the BC Lions in the West Semi-Final.

BC come into their home opener aiming to rebound from a season-opening defeat on the road.

The Lions opened with a trip to face Toronto and were beaten 35-27 by the Argonauts in Week 1.

That was a disappointing start for a team who made it to the playoffs in 2023 and are looking to go all the way in 2024.

BC finished the 2023 regular season with a 12-6 record, setting up a West Semi-Final showdown with Calgary.

The Lions beat the Stampeders 41-30 in that one, only to then lose 24-13 to Winnipeg in the West Final.
