Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Edmonton Elks Predictions & Tips

Hamilton are tipped to cover as a betting underdog in Hamilton.

Both teams have made a bad start to the season, but after seven weeks we have seen a little more from the Tiger-Cats.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Form

Hamilton heads out on the road looking to build on a first win of the season that ended a five-game skid.

The Tiger-Cats opened the season on the road and fell to a 32-24 defeat at the hands of Calgary, before losing their home opener against Saskatchewan, 33-30.

They then went back out on the road to lose 36-20 in Saskatchewan and 24-22 in Ottawa to fall to 0-4.

Hamilton had one last chance to get off the mark before their first by week, but lost 44-28 to the BC Lions.

The Tiger-Cats did, however, finally get in the win column in their first game back, beating Toronto 27-24 last weekend.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton go into their seventh game of the season still seeking their first victory of the 2024 campaign.

The Elks opened up with back-to-back home games and failed to capitalise on that as they lost 29-21 to Saskatchewan and 23-20 to Montreal.

They then went out on the road for their next two road games, losing 39-36 in Toronto before heading to British Columbia for a 24-21 defeat to the BC Lions.

Edmonton went into the bye after that loss, and when they returned to action they lost back-to-back games against Ottawa.

The Elks first hosted the Redblacks in Week 6, losing 37-34, and they then went out on the road to lose 20-14 in Ottawa.

Verdict

HAM Tiger-Cats @ EDM Elks

Both teams have made pretty miserable starts, but Hamilton may have given themselves a shot in the arm.

They got off the mark last time out and do have a good recent record against Ottawa, so we are going with the Tiger-Cats in the underdog role.
