Montreal will look to improve to 2-0 as they head out on the road for the second week running.

Despite being the defending champions, the Alouettes are yet to play a home game so far this season.

They have made a winning start though, having beaten Winnipeg 27-12 in a rematch from last season’s Grey Cup.

Montreal went just 11-7 in the regular season, but they did end the regular season on a five-game win streak and kept it going by beating Hamilton 27-12 in the playoffs.

The Alouettes then marked their first Grey Cup appearance since 2010 by snatching a 28-24 victory over Winnipeg.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton come into this game looking to bounce back from a disappointing start to the 2024 season.

The Elks opened up at home to Saskatchewan and suffered a 29-21 defeat at the hands of the Roughriders.

The loss suggests another season of struggle could be on the cards for them, after going just 4-14 in 2023.

Edmonton lost their first nine games of last season, before rallying with four victories over their next five games.

The Elks failed to keep that good form going though, losing four straight games, and that competitive losing skid reached five games with last week’s season-opening loss.

Montreal are quite simply the better team and they made an early statement with their Week 1 win.

We expect the Alouettes to back that up with another victory and cover at the expense of Edmonton.
