Ottawa went 4-14 last season as to finish bottom of the East Division and miss out on the playoffs.

The schedule-makers handed the Redblacks a rough start in back-to-back games against defending champions Winnipeg.

They lost both meetings with the Blue Bombers, 19-17 on the road and 19-12 at home, and never truly recovered.

Ottawa finally got off the mark in Week 7 as they upset eventual CFL champions, Toronto, 23-13 on the road.

The Redblacks only won three more games though, and finished the season with three consecutive defeats.

Montreal Alouettes Form

Montreal staged a late-season flurry in 2022 to finish 9-9 and claim a place in the postseason.

The Alouettes lost six of their first eight games, but a 20-17 overtime win in Winnipeg sparked a turnaround.

They won eight of their final 11 games to finish second in the East Division, with a 38-33 win over eventual champions Toronto on the final weekend ensuring they finished at .500.

That set up an East semi-final showdown with a Hamilton team that finished one game behind them in the division.

Montreal failed to make home advantage count though, as they suffered a 28-17 defeat to the Tiger-Cats.
