Saskatchewan failed to build on a strong start to last season as they finished 6-12 to miss out on the playoffs.

The Roughriders won four of their first five games to offer some early promise, but then proceeded to lose three straight to go into the bye at 4-4.

They flashed again when they returned to action, winning two of their next three games, but the wheels came off after that.

Saskatchewan lost three straight games before their second bye week of the season, and could not turn it back around.

The Roughriders ended the season on a seven-game losing skid that dropped them to 6-12.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton finished the 2022 regular season with a 4-14 record – the joint-worst record in the CFL.

The Elks opened the season with a run of three consecutive defeats, before finally getting off the mark with a 29-25 victory over Hamilton.

That did not spark a transformation in fortunes though and they were 2-5 heading into their first bye week of the season.

Edmonton did managed a couple more victories before their second bye, but at 4-10 their season was over by that point.

When they returned to action, the Elks suffered four consecutive defeats to close out the campaign.
