Chicago Bears @ New Orleans Saints Predictions

The Bears (8-8) may be solid defensively, but they have their work cut out against the Saints (12-4). New Orleans have been tough to play against all season and rank fifth in fewest yards allowed.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara could play on Sunday, and should that happen, it is hard to see how the Bears win this game.

  • New Orleans Saints finished the season 12-4 as NFC South winners.
  • New Orleans Saints have won their last 3 games, two of them by double digits
  • New Orleans Saints have appeared in the playoffs on 14 occasions
  • Chicago Bears finished the season 8-8 as NFC North runners-up
  • Chicago Bears have made the playoffs on just two occasions between 2010 and 2020

Head to Head

New Orleans Saints won 26-23 when the sides last met in November. Over the years, the two teams have faced each other 32 times (including 2 postseason games). The Saints have won 17 of those games compared to Chicago’s 15.

New Orleans Saints Form

New Orleans finished the season with two huge wins over the Panthers (33-7) and Vikings (52-33) to seal the NFC South with a 12-4 record.

The Saints’ season suffered a huge blow when Drew Brees suffered serious injury in Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Taysom Hill stepped up to keep the Saints in solid form, while Alvin Kamara has also impressed.

The wide-margin wins over Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers has given New Orleans plenty of momentum ahead of Sunday’s game.

New Orleans Saints Team News

Receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) could reportedly be passed fit, while WR Deonte Harris (neck) has returned to practice.

Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (neck) and QB Taysom Hill (concussion) were limited.

Running backs Latavius Murray and Dwayne Washington, as well as fullback Michael Burton, have been activated.

Chicago Bears Form

Chicago made a superb start to the season, going 5-1 before suffering a 0-7 run during a nightmare mid-season.

However, the Bears’ offense has improved towards the end of the season, helping them to come out on the right side of some high-scoring games and making the playoffs as NFC North runners-up with an 8-8 record.

They lost to the Green Bay Packers in a blowout last week, but still managed to sneak into the playoffs thanks to the Los Angeles Rams' win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Chicago Bears Team News

Linebacker Roquan Smith (elbow) and receiver Darnell Mooney (ankle) are injury doubts, with both missing practice this week.

Even at full strength, it would be hard to see Chicago Bears winning this. Without Smith and Mooney, it's hard to see how they get a result.
