Arizona State go into the Big 12 Championship Game on a five-game win streak that has led them to a 10-2 record.

The Sun Devils were predicted to finish last in the conference in pre-season, so it was not a major shock as they lost two of their first four Big 12 games.

However, they have not lost since the 24-14 defeat in Cincinnati on October 19, sparking a five-game surge with a 42-21 win at Oklahoma State.

Arizona State sandwiched a 24-14 upset of Kansas State on the road with home wins over UCF, 35-31, and BYU, 28-23.

The Sun Devils then clinched their place in the championship game with a 49-7 blowout of Arizona last weekend.

Iowa State Form

Iowa State enter this matchup having booked their place in the Big 12 Championship with a three-game winning run that propelled them to 10-2.

The Cyclones opened the season with three non-conference wins, including a 20-19 upset of Iowa on the road, and kept that run going in their early Big 12 schedule.

They won their first four conference games, only to go cold in early November with back-to-back defeats costing them a top-10 spot.

Iowa State were beaten 23-22 at home by Texas Tech, before heading to Kansas for a 45-36 defeat.

The Cyclones rebounded at home though, beating Cincinnati 34-17, and they backed that up with a 31-28 victory at Utah and a 29-21 success at home to Kansas State.
