Florida head out on the road for the first time this season with a 1-2 record and looking to bounce back from a conference defeat.

The Gators, who ended last season on a five-game losing skid, have so far struggled to turn things around in 2024.

They opened up with a home game against State rivals Miami FL and were blown out by the Hurricanes, 41-17.

Florida finally halted their losing run a week later, but that victory came against weak opposition as they beat Samford 45-7.

The Gators faced a tougher challenge a week later as they welcome Texas A&M at ‘The Swamp’, and they returned to losing ways with a 33-20 defeat to the Aggies.

Mississippi State Form

Mississippi State enter this matchup looking to cause an upset and bounce back from a couple of defeats that have left them 1-2.

The Bulldogs, who went 5-7 in 2023, kicked things off with a 56-7 demolition of Eastern Kentucky in their season-opener, but they have not won since.

They have stepped up the level of opposition over the past couple of games, and that has resulted in two defeats.

Mississippi State visited Arizona State for their opening road game and suffered a 30-23 defeat in that one.

The Bulldogs then returned home to take on Toledo and gave up 28 first-half points on their way to a 41-17 blowout loss.

Florida have suffered a couple of bad losses already this season, but Mississippi State are a step down from the likes of Miami FL and Texas A&M.
