They were beaten 56-45 by Boise State in a high-scoring showdown at home, only to issue an immediate response a week later.

Georgia Southern went out on the road and fended off a fourth-quarter fightback attempt from Nevada to win 20-17.

The Eagles then backed that up by recording their first home win of the campaign a week ago, beating South Carolina State 42-14.
