Georgia vs Clemson Predictions & Tips

Georgia are tipped to cover the spread as they win this big season-opener.

The Bulldogs have their sights set on another national title and a dominant defense will be the key.

We expect them to put the clamps on Clemson, who have underwhelmed in recent seasons.

  • Georgia have won 30 of their last 31 games
  • Georgia had a +23.2 average scoring margin last season
  • Clemson have covered in only 5 of their previous 10 games
  • The Under has cashed in 4 of Georgia’s last 6 games

Head To Head

  • Georgia lead the all-time series 43-18 with 4 ties
  • Georgia won 10-3 when the two teams last met in September 2021

Georgia Form

Georgia enter the 2024 season with the mission to regain the national title they surrendered in 2023.

The Bulldogs dominated on their way to the title 2022, and another dominant run appeared to be on the cards when they reeled off 12 consecutive wins to start last season.

That run included a string of convincing wins over ranked teams, as they beat Kentucky 51-13, Missouri 30-21, Ole Miss 52-17 and Tennessee 38-10.

All Georgia now needed was to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game to maintain their #1 ranking and secure a place in the College Football Playoffs, but their streak was ended by a shock 27-24 defeat.

That cost the Bulldogs back-to-back titles, but they did at least sign off on a positive note as they blew out Florida State in the Orange Bowl, 63-3.

Clemson Form

Clemson come into the season looking to bounce back from a poor 2023 campaign and end a three-year absence from the College Football Playoffs.

The Tigers made a miserable start to last season as they were beaten 28-7 at Duke on opening day, and within a matter of weeks they found themselves out of the rankings with a 4-4 record.

They did end the season on a good run of form though, starting with a morale-boosting 31-23 win over Notre Dame.

Clemson backed that up with victories over Georgia Tech, North Carolina and South Carolina to finish 8-4, securing a Bowl Game.

The Tigers accepted an invitation to play in the Gator Bowl, and they won a thrilling clash with Kentucky, 38-35.

Verdict

Georgia have been borderline unstoppable over the past several seasons.

The Bulldogs will be a force to be reckoned with again in 2024, and we expect them to lay down an early marker.
