The Jayhawks opened with four straight wins, but saw their perfect start end with a 40-14 blowout loss at #3 Texas.

A couple of weeks later they suffered a 39-32 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma State, but they rebounded in impressive fashion a week later by knocking off #6 Oklahoma, 38-33.

Kansas backed that up with a 28-21 success at Iowa State, only to lose their next two outings, 16-13 to Texas Tech and 31-27 at #23 Kansas State.

The Jayhawks did avoid a third straight loss though, as they wrapped up the regular season with a 49-16 victory in Cincinnati.

UNLV go into this Bowl Game looking to bounce back from a conference championship defeat.

The Rebels went 9-3 in the regular season to earn a place in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game.

They rebounded from a 35-7 defeat at #2 Michigan with a run of five consecutive games that saw the offense repeatedly score over 40 points.

UNLV then bounced back from a loss to Fresno State with a three-game win streak, meaning their 37-31 loss to San Jose State did not deny them a place in the conference championship.

The Rebels failed to bounce back from that loss though, as they were beaten 44-20 by Boise State.
