The Buckeyes were sluggish offensively through the first two weeks of the season, but were still able to get the job done comfortably.

They opened with a 23-3 victory on the road at Indiana that cost them the #3 spot in the college football rankings.

Ohio State then dropped from #5 to #6 in the wake of an underwhelming 35-7 victory over Youngstown State in their home opener.

The Buckeye’s offense start to fire last week though, and that resulted in a 63-10 blowout of Western Kentucky.

Notre Dame Form

Notre Dame boast a perfect 4-0 record heading into their first meeting with a ranked team this season.

The Fighting Irish opened the season in Dublin, Ireland where they made straightforward work of Navy in a 42-3 win.

They then backed that up with another blowout win in their home opener, downing Tennessee State 56-3.

Notre Dame faced more resistance when they went back out on the road, but they again produced a strong offensive showing to run out 45-24 winners at NC State.

The Fighting Irishmen then took their record to 4-0 with a 41-17 victory over Central Michigan last time out.
