Penn State are tipped to cover the spread as they win the Peach Bowl.

The Nittany Lions offense clicked late in the regular season and should enjoy success against an Ole Miss defense that gave up plenty of points to ranked teams.

Ole Miss come into the Peach Bowl having compiled a 10-2 regular-season record that saw their only two defeats come against ranked teams.

The Rebels opened with three straight victories, but failed to make it four-in-a-row as they were beaten 24-10 at #13 Alabama.

They rebounded impressive a week later though, beating #13 LSU 55-49 at home, and that sparked a five-game win streak.

Ole Miss’ run saw them also beat Arkansas 27-20 and Texas A&M 38-35, but they were unable to make it six-in-a-row as they were blown out at #1 Georgia, 52-17.

The Rebels did bounce back to win their final two games though, beating Louisiana-Monroe 35-3 and Mississippi State 17-7.

Penn State Form

Penn State enter this Bowl Game having also put together a 10-2 record during the regular season, with their only losses coming against top-three teams.

The Nittany Lions opened the season with a six-game win streak that included a 31-0 shutout win at home to #24 Iowa.

That run was ended in late October though when they were beaten 20-12 on the road by #3 Ohio State.

Penn State responded to that loss with a 33-24 win over Indiana and a 51-15 victory at Maryland, but they failed to make it three-in-a-row as they were beaten 25-15 by #2 Michigan.

The Nittany Lions did wrap up the regular season on a positive note though, following up a 27-6 win over Rutgers with a 42-0 shutout of Michigan State.

Verdict

Mississippi @ Penn State

Penn State’s offense started rolling after the change at offensive co-ordinator.

Ole Miss’ defense, meanwhile, gave up a bunch of points to ranked teams this season, so we expect the Nittany Lions to cover the spread as they win this Bowl Game.
