The Nittany Lions opened the season ranked #6 in the nation and got off to a solid start with a 38-15 win against West Virginia.

They backed that up a week later with a 63-7 blowout of Delaware, before heading out on the road for the first time to beat Illinois 30-13.

That set Penn State up nicely for a meeting with #24 Iowa, and they delivered in emphatic fashion on the day.

The Nittany Lions did not give up a single point as they beat the Hawkeyes 31-0 to improve to #6 in the rankings.

Northwestern come into this game on the back of a win that improved them to 2-2 for the season.

The Wildcats opened the 2023 campaign on the road and struggled offensively as they were beaten 24-7 by conference rivals Rutgers.

They rebounded a week later to beat UTEP 38-7, but their joy proved to be short-lived as they failed to follow that up.

Northwestern went back out on the road to face #21 Duke, and fell to a 38-14 defeat to the Blue Devils.

The Wildcats once again bounced back quickly from a loss though, beating Minnesota 37-34 at home last time out.
