Jacksonville are tipped to cover as a home betting underdog.

The Jaguars were a reliable pick in this role last season, while Kansas City spluttered badly last week.

The Chiefs will turn it around, but the Jaguars can at the very least push them to the limit here.

Kansas City head out on the road looking to bounce back from a shock season-opening defeat.

The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs came into the season with their sights set on winning back-to-back crowns.

However, their first outing did not go to plan as they suffered a 21-20 home loss to the Detroit Lions.

Kansas City went into that game without two key players in Chris Jones and Travis Kelce, and very little went right for them.

The Chiefs offense struggled as Patrick Mahomes was let down by his receivers and offensive co-ordinator Matt Nagy made some questionable play calls.

Jacksonville Jaguars Form

Jacksonville go into their home opener with a 1-0 record and with the aim of sending a message to the rest of the league.

The Jaguars enjoyed a superb first season under Doug Pederson as they overcame a rough first eight weeks to win seven of their final nine games to make the playoffs.

They then staged an incredible fightback to beat the Los Angeles Chargers, before losing to Kansas City in the Divisional Round.

Jacksonville’s run made them a team to watch this season, and they got off to a solid start last weekend.

The Jaguars put up 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter as they came from four points down to win 31-21 in Indianapolis.

Verdict

KC Chiefs @ JAX Jaguars

Kansas City are unlikely to be as bad as they were in Week 1, especially if Kelce and Jones return.

However, it is hard to look past a good Jacksonville team who were a flawless spread selection as a home underdog in 2022.
