The Jets' balanced offense is improving game by game and the defense is likely to slow down a one-dimensional Patriots offense.

New England entered a new era when they kicked off the 2024 campaign, with Bill Belichick no longer prowling the sidelines.

The legendary head coach left the Patriots after leading them to just four wins in 2023, and he has been replaced by former linebacker Jerrod Mayo.

The team have also made a major change at quarterback, moving on from Mac Jones by selecting North Carolina QB Drake Maye in the first round of the 2024 draft.

Maye is being developed behind veteran Jacoby Brissett, who has led the team into their opening two games against Cincinnati and Seattle.

New England opened with a surprise 16-10 victory at the Bengals, but they failed to back that up last weekend as they lost 23-20 in overtime to the Seahawks.

New York Jets Form

New York came into the 2024 season looking to improve on the 7-10 record they produced in 2023 without Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers was the marquee offseason addition for the Jets, but suffered a season-ending injury just minutes into his debut, derailing the Jets’ campaign.

The Hall of Fame-bound quarterback has returned for 2024 though, and he was handed a baptism of fire as the schedule-makers handed his team a road opener against San Francisco.

New York unsurprisingly fell to a 32-19 defeat against last season's NFC champions, but they responded immediately to that loss.

The Jets went back out on the road in Week 2 and ran out 24-17 winners when they visited the Tennessee Titans.

New York's offense continues to grow with Aaron Rodgers at the controls, while New England remain run-heavy.

If the Jets can take away the Patriots' run game they can pull away to win this by at least a touchdown.
