Super Bowl LV Predictions

Patrick Mahomes vs Tom Brady for the Super Bowl. Brady is a six-time winner and I'm tipping his experience sees the Buccaneers home against defending champions the Chiefs in a thriller.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won their last 7 matches.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers have scored 30+ points in their last 6 matches.
  • Tampa Bay's Tom Brady is a six-time Super Bowl winner.
  • Tampa Bay are the first team ever to play a Super Bowl at their home stadium.
  • Kansas City Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions.
  • Kansas City Chiefs have lost 7 of their last 8 matches against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head to Head

Kansas City were 27-24 winners when the sides met in November in Round 12. That was their first win over the Bucs since 1993.

Tampa Bay had won seven in a row prior to this season's loss, one of them in overtime.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Form

Quarterback Tom Brady led the Bucs to their first playoff appearance since the 2007 season, and Tampa Bay now find themselves playing in the big one and as hosts of the Super Bowl too.

No team has ever had the advantage of playing a Super Bowl inside their home stadium before.

This will be six-time champion Brady's 10th Super Bowl appearance after the Bucs upset Green Bay Packers 31-26 to win the NFC Championship two weeks ago.

Tampa Bay made it to the NFL decider after a 31-23 Wild Card Round win over Washington and a 30-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round.

The Buccaneers finished runners-up in NFC South with an 11-5 record but find themselves as Super Bowl hosts facing the reigning champions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team News

Wide receiver Antonio Brown is the biggest injury worry for Tampa Bay. He missed the win over the Packers with a knee injury.

Safeties Antoine Winfield Jr and Jordan Whitehead are both touch and go with shoulder and ankle injuries respectively.

Linebacker Lavonte David has been cleared to play after a hamstring injury.

Kansas City Chiefs Form

A 38-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills saw the Chiefs win the AFC Championship game once again, and they now bid to retain the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The reigning Super Bowl champions finished the season 14-2 to win the AFC West.

They claimed a 22-17 victory over a determined Cleveland Browns side in the Divisional Round.

Fitness doubts over quarterback Patrick Mahomes failed to stop him from lining up against the Bills, and last year's Super Bowl MVP led his side to victory.

Mahomes was at his brilliant best, throwing for three touchdowns and 325 yards as the Chiefs won at Arrowhead Stadium.

Can the Chiefs now become the first back-to-back Super Bowl winners since Tom-Brady achieved the feat with the New England Patriots in the 2003 and 2004 seasons?

Kansas City Chiefs Team News

The Chiefs a doubt over starting tackle Eric Fisher with an Achilles injury. Martinas Rankin is on standby.

Wide receiver Sammy Watkins expects to be fit after missing both playoffs with a calf injury.

Rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is fully recovered from ankle and hip injuries.

Tampa Bay have done it the hard way, but I'm tipping them to win the Super Bowl. Tom Brady can win the battle with Patrick Mahomes and led the Bucs to success on home turf in Tampa.

Although these two sides have been among the leading points scorers, the total has been set high at 56 points. Only 2 of the last 7 Super Bowls have surpassed that figure, so back unders.
