Birmingham go into this game looking to improve to 2-0 after last week’s ‘battle of the champions’.

The Stallions dominated the USFL before the merger late last year, winning back-to-back championships.

They won 21 of their 24 games during the USFL’s two-year run, so it was no surprise that they were a leading contender to go all the way coming into the maiden UFL season.

Birmingham were paired with XFL champions Arlington in a clash of two spring football champions, and they sent an early message.

Despite being the road team, the Stallions ran out 27-14 winners in the season-opening matchup at Choctaw Stadium.

Michigan Panthers Form

Michigan go into the second of three straight homes games looking to build on an opening-day win.

The Panthers posted losing records in their two USFL campaigns, but a 4-6 record was enough to see them into the postseason in 2023.

However, their run in the playoffs proved to be short-lived as they were beaten 31-27 in overtime by Pittsburgh in the North Division Final.

Despite the losing records, Michigan were one of the teams to survive the merger and they pulled off an upset on opening weekend.

The Panthers took on a St Louis team who are expected to challenge for the first UFL title, and snatched an 18-16 victory thanks to an incredible 64-yard field goal as time expired.

Michigan have pulled off one upset already this season, but another is unlikely here.

Birmingham are the dominant force in spring football and are backed to build on last week’s big win and cover.
