Houston head to the defending UFL champions having resurrected their season with three wins in their last four games.

The Roughnecks won just two games all last season, and made a miserable start to 2025 as they lost back-to-back games.

They opened with a 31-6 blowout loss at home to St Louis, before heading to Arlington for an 11-9 defeat in the ‘Texas Throwdown’.

Houston finally got off the mark with an 18-17 win in Memphis, only to return to losing ways as they were beaten 23-16 at home by Birmingham.

The Roughnecks have not lost since though, backing up a 27-3 victory in San Antonio with a 21-20 win at home to Memphis to improve to 3-3.

Birmingham Stallions Form

Defending champions Birmingham issued an immediate response to their second defeat of the season, improving their record to 4-2.

The Stallions suffered a surprise defeat on opening night as they were beaten 18-11 at the DC Defenders, but they rebounded strongly.

They ran out 21-12 winners in Michigan, before returning home to battle past Arlington in a 10-9 victory.

Birmingham made it three-in-a-row with a 23-16 success in Houston, only for their winning run to end a week later as they were shockingly beaten at home by Memphis, 24-20.

The Stallions issued a swift and emphatic response though, as they blew out San Antonio last weekend, 26-3.

Birmingham have wobbled a couple of times this season, but they are the better team.
