Birmingham hold a one-game lead over the rest of the South Division thanks to a 6-2 record.

The Stallions began their defence of the USFL title with back-to-back wins, beating New Jersey 27-10 and Memphis 42-2.

They stumbled over the next three weeks though, sandwiching a 24-20 victory over Pittsburgh with a 45-31 loss to New Orleans and 27-20 defeat to Houston.

Birmingham have got their season back on track however, reeling off three consecutive wins.

They beat Michigan 27-13 and New Orleans 24-20 on the road, before returning home to beat Philadelphia 27-24.

Houston Gamblers Form

Houston have overcome a slow start to win five of their last six games and improve to 5-3.

The Gamblers opened with a 29-13 loss to Michigan, and then fell to a 38-31 defeat when they faced New Orleans.

They kick-started their campaign in Week 3 though, downing Memphis 30-26 and sparking a four-game win streak.

Houston went on to blow out Philadelphia 41-16, before beating Birmingham 27-20 and New Jersey 16-10.

The Gamblers’ streak was halted by a 23-20 loss to Memphis, but they hit back immediately with a 20-19 victory over Pittsburgh.
