New Orleans come into this game on the back of a win that snapped a three-game losing sequence.

The Breakers were the last unbeaten team standing in the USFL after winning their first four games of the season.

They opened with a 22-15 win over Pittsburgh and then beat Houston 38-31, Birmingham 45-31 and New Jersey 20-17.

New Orleans’ form and offense stalled over the next three weeks though, resulting in a 17-10 defeat to Memphis, followed by a 16-10 loss to Philadelphia and 24-20 loss to Birmingham.

The Breakers finally snapped out of their funk last weekend, beating Michigan 24-20 to improve to 5-3.

Memphis Showboats Form

Memphis are riding a league-best five-game win streak that has catapulted them into the playoff race.

The Showboats made a rough start to the season as they lost each of their first three games, starting with a 27-23 home defeat to Philadelphia.

They were then blown out 42-2 by defending champions Birmingham, before losing 30-26 to Houston.

Memphis finally got off the mark in Week 4 though, winning 29-10 at Michigan, and they backed that up a week later with a 17-10 upset of New Orleans.

The Showboats’ streak then continued as they shutout Pittsburgh 22-0, downed Houston 23-20 and then beat New Jersey 25-16 to reach 5-3.
